Gold Rush Chicken

HOW have I lived in Bay View for 5 years and only made it here tonight? Only complaint I have is not coming here sooner. Countless recommendations from friends for the place, and shame on me for not acting on it before now. Amazing food; just grabbed the 4-piece dinner for myself tonight, and was immediately taken back to having fantastic fried chicken in Detroit as a kid. For months/years (as a pretty good cook myself) I’ve had the thought, “Man, I need to make some fried chicken at home.” Nope. Not anymore. I’m fine with leaving that craft to the experts. These guys are in walking distance of me, and absolutely knocked it out of the park compared to any fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. First time here of (what I look forward to as) many.

Grew up eating at gold rush chicken as a kid was great chicken I just ordered and wasn't satisfied paid 25 dollars for 8 pieces didn't know they serve Cornish hens the pieces was very small I guess I want be ordering there no more 2 nd time I wasn't satisfied.

Their chocolate malts are to die for. Alittle to pricey. Chocolate shake at mcdobalds is only $2.89. A small chocolate malt should be like under $5. But they are worth it. I love their French fries. But ya gotta eat them when there hot and fresh. Chicken is sometimes over cooked and or dry. Colslaw is pretty good but they don't give much as they used to 10 some years ago. They only give ya 1 bite full of it in a small container. The asian lady worker and young man with the dark brown pont tail he's cool and nice. Very quick fast paced. Never have to wait long for our orders. Parking: They don't have their own parking lot. Have to park on the side streets. Not much of a pick when every spot is taken. But when I go there to pick up I can always park across from them. But careful while crossing. At that 4 way red light intersection. Even if the light is red. Cars go flying thro not paying attention to pedestrians. Idk how many times I almost got ran over. And the sad thing is these drive
