Reviews for Gigi's Italian Restaurant

After reading all the reviews our family decided to try this place last night. It was not what we expected. The menus were filthy, I had a cockroach climb up my menu. I flicked it to the floor and got up and stepped on it. At this point I wanted to leave but our family showed up as I was standing there. Everything we ordered was bland and tough. Calamari, mussels. Chicken parm, Veal parm . The only thing with any flavor was the eggplant parm. The salad was just lettuce drenched in balsamic. My Husband does not eat balsamic and asked for Italian or red wine vinegar and oil….They responded no only the balsamic. Never heard of a restaurant with one salad dressing only. Even the garlic knots were cold and dry. Wine was horrible. We are all at a loss as to how this place got good reviews???? We are in the restaurant and hospitality business and eat out frequently. This was by far one of the worst places all 4 of us ever ate at. My Husband never complains about food so it had to be really ba
I was recently dismayed to see a negative review of this fantastic restaurant that I’ve had the privilege of enjoying for over 25 years and whose food I just enjoyed last week. As a Martin County native, I first remember ordering from Gigi’s when they were located in Port Salerno. When they later relocated across from the Stuart Lanes, I dined there too. The Spaghetti a la Gigi was amazing. I moved away from the area, but returned over a decade later. Upon my return, Gigi’s was now in Jensen and I had a child. Yet despite the changes the years brought, one thing remained the same - the quality and taste of the food at Gigi’s. My picky and sometimes hard to please child loves the Eggplant Parm, and the Spaghetti with meatballs (or Italian sausage) never fails to hit the spot when, after a long day at work, I’m hungry and simply want something hearty and filling. I’ve dined in and ordered take out, and Gigi’s has always been a clean and cozy place to enjoy a meal with family and fr
The ridiculously obsolete policy of CASH ONLY should have indicated the tone for the rest of what turned out to be a subpar dinner here. This restaurant looks and feels like a 1970’s Italian restaurant back when we accepted anything due to a lack of competition. Salad (no choice of dressing) came in a warm plate, rolls were hard but in a very good olive oil base. No wine list, glass and carafes only, 3 reds and 2 whites. My Linguine with Garlic and Oil featured a good amount of garlic in a nice sauce, but the pasta felt re-heated and stiff. My wife’s Veal Saltimbocca, although also in a nice sauce, also looked pre-made and re-heated, as both the veal and the prosciutto were hard. Highlight was service by two friendly and attentive young staff, but that could not overcome the substandard fare. Don’t understand the great reviews, especially when the competition even within a half mile radius is so better.
