Made reservations in this place after other restaurants were booked. Lots of time slots were available so I was expecting a slow day, turned out to be completely the opposite. It was packed and we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. This annoyed me and my partner but the host was apologetic and offered us a free appetizer. I could tell he was working hard to get us a seat but unfortunately some of the past diners just weren't willing to move - completely out of his control Upon being seated, the waiter took some time to appear but our appetizer came quick. I enjoyed the personality cards about our waiter before we met him, it definitely added a touch of intimacy. We ordered our food promptly (turns out 25 minutes is a lot of time to decide, who would've thought?) Entrees took about 15-20 minutes to come out, which is standard timing. The steaks were cooked to perfection (NY Strip & Filet Mignon, for me and my lovely partner, respectively) Although the seasoning was a tad bit too litt
I have been twice and sat at the bar both times and enjoyed thoroughly. I travel alone often and sitting at the bar can be hit or miss for service and it has been a hit both times. The first time I had oysters, the tomato bisque, and the steak and it was great. Had a beer and a couple cocktails, one of which I gave the bartender free reign to make something cool and he hit it out of the park. Finished with the key lime pie that was good, though I have had better. The second time I had a tequila cocktail, and an IPA on tap that was relatively local. For food I had the tomato bisque because it was excellent and I had the seafood linguine dish that was excellent as well. Again, great service at the bar. If in the Amherst/Buffalo area, check it out.
