Much better service this time! Sterling, I believe her name was. Was very friendly and kind. She is one employee you should keep and give a raise too! As always I enjoy the food! Chefs do well. Please don't change the way you serve your food. I love the grill, and how you can select your own food.
The food itself was pretty good, mainly because of the decent variety of choices to choose from. I have to say I am not a fan of scanning the menu from the QR code on the table and having to order and pay through my phone. For the time it took the server to help us navigate through it, she could have more easily taken our order, which was basically several large build your own bowls but I understand it is a corporate decision to have the guests order that way to alleviate staffing issues. The fountain drink machine was down so we were pretty much limited to water and tea for our beverages.
Genghis Grill has one of those awkward set ups where you have a waiter but they don’t really do much for you since you have to go through a line and put your own ingredients together into a bowl and bring them to the grill. You have the opportunity to tip twice, and surprisingly, because there is a tip jar at the grill, as well as a line to tip on your receipt. i’m guessing they don’t share tips with the cooks. Regardless, their protein selection is very good, although they no longer have scallops. And they do a good job keeping the place clean. Portion size is pretty small for the price and you will leave hungry if all you get is the regular $17 bowl. I ended up getting my order to go because I couldn’t log onto the Wi-Fi despite their friendly staff’s best efforts.
