Gate of Damascus

We recently tried Gate of Damascus in #elcajon and it was amazing! We started with some #turkishcoffee with little pistachio cookies, then we shared some makhalma, which is scrambled eggs with meat. We also got the fatteh with meat, which is chickpeas, ground beef, yogurt, tahini, and toasted bread. So many delicious spices and flavors and textures. They gave us freshly baked bread and pickles to eat it all with. We also got a meat and cheese manakish flatbread to bring home for later! There's still so many dishes and baked goods we want to try here so we'll be back!

Like this place. It's on main street. Good parking available on site. Try the chicken wrap it's good. Also they have great middle eastern flat bread available in the morning. Lemon mint (minty lemonade) is good refreshing drink. Also the fruity smoothie is good as well

Best middle eastern spot! You have to try it. They have big portions, the rice is so good and the shawarma is delicious, the bread is warm and soft and the drinks as good as well. I’ve been here a few times and I’ve tried a few of their dishes already. We have also ordered food for work events and the food is excellent every time. It gets pretty busy for lunch time so get there early. Prices are very good
