Garden City Bistro

I ordered a salad today for ~$18, only to find a small green inch worm in it after I had already eaten 90% of it. After becoming extremely nauseous and vomiting, I went back inside to complain to the woman behind the counter, who proceeded to tell another woman about the situation. She acknowledged that it was from the lettuce but assured me that they “wash it and wash it”. After this poor excuse, they both stood there and looked at me as if I had two heads. One of them finally said, “so what do you want, a refund?” Not sure why this would even be a question being that I paid almost $20 for a salad with a bug in it. They even had the audacity to ask if I had a receipt and neither of them apologized. I understand that this can happen but I would have appreciated an apology at the very least. I will never be eating here again.

Way overrated!!!! Business hours are horrible, not open weekends and often randomly closed during the week. Staff is super rude and refuse to accept call ahead orders for pick up. Wait time for walk in orders can take over 30 minutes. Salads are good but certainly not worth the aggravation. Tons of great alternatives in the GC area. Appreciate the response but your excuse is weak. Read prior reviews, patrons have complained about wait time and staff for years. As an owner you should own the criticism, learn from the critique and improve the business. No one is picking on “you” remarkably childish response from a business owner. And yes I, as I am sure many will go elsewhere for a salad.

Every time I eat here I get chronic stomach pains and diarrhea without fail! So do my coworkers and people I have spoken too.. Anyone else? I have made the staff aware... I don't think they clean very well.. What a shame!
