Gallo Nero Dallas

We arrived just before 3 PM and I guess that I should have taken the place as being empty of patrons as a sign. We drove over 35 minutes to try this place. We opted to stay since we were here already. We sat down and the waitress brought garlic rolls and butter to the table. The rolls were cold and semi hard so the butter would not spread. We asked for more rolls and the second batch had just come out of the oven so they were a lot better. We ordered two pineapple margaritas from the bar and were told that no one was available to prepare drinks. The manager, who is apparently the bar tender had left to go to the store and would not return for an hour or so. Really?? You mean no one else in the entire establishment can prepare a drink? Should have been the second sign to get out of there! We ordered in hopes that maybe by the time the food came the manager would be back so that we could have a cocktail with our food. Great place! Friendly staff! The food was very delicious and worth every penny, no one in our group could finish the dish so we all took leftovers ???? which was also a plus ! ????????

We ordered the lobster ravioli which was a hit although the sauce was a tiny bit spicy which I'm very leery of in Italian dishes(Italians don’t typically do spicy very well). When lobster ravioli is done well it's one of my favorite Italian dishes. The tour of Italy was a nice chance to try some different things. The cheese ravioli was ok but I probably wouldn't order it on my own. The tortellini was ok also. The lasagna was where it was at.
