Fresh Stack Burger

A recent take out experience has marred my rating. I picked up a burger and fries Saturday night. When I opened the sealed bag at home, I found a burger with all the fixings without a bun. I had not ordered it this way. My wife called and they stated they reversed the charges. This was a nice gesture, but 4 days later, there is no cleared or pending charge reversal on the credit card. It's easy to promise something and then to not deliver. My wife called back after 3 days. They said it takes 2 to 3 days for the charge to reverse, but it had been 3 days. We were told a manager would call us twice, but no one has ever called back. I figured maybe letting others know to check their order carefully before leaving the store and following up with refunds that were promised might be helpful.

This burger joint is now in the Whole Foods on Kingsbury but since i was in the area, i thought I would stop in the original in Kildeer. Im glad I did! I ordered the double cheeseburger (no ketchup) and onion strings. The burger is fantastic, its salty and unctuous and perfectly balanced with the cheese and pickles. The best thing is the price (less than $10) for a burger that competes with some city staples. The onion strings were on-point. Crispy, fried to perfection but not greasy, and its real onions!! Use the dipping sauces too, its excellent!! My fave was the habanero cause it had that apricot quality before the heat hits you. Try them all (ghost pepper is strong tomato puree & garlic with intense heat / lighter is the smokey green chili serrano)! Staff is friendly and so is the owner!! I will definitely be getting more burgers at the Kingsbury location.
