We dined here late on a Friday night. I was slightly disappointed they closed at midnight on a Friday night but we took advantage of the time we had to try various drinks and appetizers. The concept of the bar is unique and makes for an interesting experience. I recommend giving this bar a try whenever you’re downtown Houston.
So flying saucer has a great atmosphere. They have something like 200+ beers on tap and in bottle. They have a cool reward system if you plan on going back often. You get a card and it keeps track of all the beers you have drank and when you reach 200 different beers you get a plate on the wall. You will see the hundreds of plates on the wall. The staff is pretty knowledgeable about the different beers if you have any questions. It is a must if you are downtown checking things out. There Pretzel is awesome it's at least the size of your head if not bigger. There Club sandwich is my favorite food they have but there are other good options like the German Plate. I highly recommend checking it out if your downtown. It is also a great place to stop in before an Astros game to eat/drink and take the train over to the stadium. Parking: Depending on what time of day you go parking can be a pain. During the day most of the street parking is metered so you will have to pay. There is a parking g
We split a turkey sandwich and pretzel. The portions were generous. It was decent typical American pub food. All of the choices on the menu were greasy and heavy. The service was excellent and we got complimentary champagne for New Year's Eve which we greatly appreciated. We managed to find a place in the back where we could talk without having to scream over the obnoxious music.
