Flamingo Pizza of Miller

This was the first time we were at Flamingo Pizza since the COVID Pandemic began. It felt good to be back. Flamingo is just a little Tavern/Pizza Place/Regular Restaurant in the tiny Miller Beach Enclave of Gary, Indiana. WHAT??? When Gary is mentioned people think, NO, Absolutely Not! But Miller Beach is a Lakefront Community right by beautiful Marquette Beach. It's lovely! Although Pizza is in the name, I go to Flamingo for the seafood. Shrimp - yummy, Lake Perch - yummy, fish of any kind - they know how to do it. If fried, not overly battered and not greasy. Burgers are good and on the weekends they have steaks. The Staff are pleasant and, for Hubby and I, this is a short drive from Chicago for an enjoyable meal in what seems to be "the middle of nowhere" if you don't know better.

The food and service were even better than expected! What is not to like about corn nuggets and good pizza? They are using quality ingredients at Flamingo Pizza and it shows. First time customer. Ordered for pick up. It was ready on time. I had a large Supreme pizza and naked chicken. Instead of sausage and pepperoni, I subbed for Italian beef and chicken (i dont eat pork anymore). Pretty good. I am normally good with how much pizza sauce is on a pizza, but for this one I would've like more. Good flavor, can tell it is oven brick. The only thing I didn't like about that was, there was quite a bit of black soot on my hands when I picked up the pizza, but you didn't taste it on the pizza crust itself, so it was all good. Will order again. Not sure if wings come with a choice of sauce, as I wasn't offered any. Will ask next time. Like that it has outdoor seating.
