After a Kings game we decided to try this venue. Obviously it was busy and since we were a large group-6 people-we were told it would be a 45 minute wait. Somehow, the doorman was able to get us in quickly. The service was just as fast and friendly. Our meal was delicious and served promptly. They have the best macaroni and cheese and cornbread. Definitely worth a trip and highly recommended.
The other day while walking along LA Live, we were struck by the wonderful aroma of southern cooking as we passed Fixins Soul Kitchen. Initially we thought the line and wait for a table would be too long, but as it turned out, we were immediately seated outdoors facing the avenue. Current pop, RnB, and hip hop contributed set a great atmosphere which was highlighted the personable wait staff and the excitement surrounding the excellent food being served. Oh and they have live DJ’s who were changing shifts during our visit. I enjoyed the large fried chicken, Mac n cheese collards and a biscuit on my plate. She loved the fried chicken wings, ox tails, same sides as me, plus a light cocktail. We loved everything! Looking forward to stopping by later this month for another great plate! Try it for yourself, yum yum!
I went to Fixins on a Tuesday afternoon before a Sparks game. From the hostess to the waitress Mary, to the food, drinks, and atmosphere, all was good. I had the fried deviled eggs, chicken and waffles and the blue raspberry margarita. All three were delicious and prices are definitely reasonable. I surely thought it was going to be overpriced because of the location and popularity but it wasn't. I'll definitely be back and recommend to others.
