I ordered the large oxtails with greens/cabbage and Mac on Tuesday June 21st. The portion size on the oxtails was not what I was expecting. When they gave me my food the bottom of the container was cold in one section. I thought that was odd!!! I get home and I find out why. The oxtails were cold, the gravy was congealed as if they took them out of the fridge… Appeared to be leftovers! This is my usual go to for Jamaican food but, I may have to find a new spot. I expect fresh food for $29 plus I left a tip which I don’t normally do for takeout but, I knew my food was going to be great☹️! I gave them three stars because they did put a generous amount for my sides. Maybe it was an off day but can’t afford off days at $29 a meal!
I thought it was expensive when I paid for my family of 4 but when I got the food I realized why! Huge portion sizes even the small was more than most places have for a large! Oxtail was delicious!!! Jerk chicken was to die for! They really made this food with love!!! If I could give 10 stars I would!
The FOOD!!!!! AH- MAZE-ZING!!!! The curry goat was some of the best I have ever had outside of the island! The staff was courteous and welcoming which made me wonder when I called, lol! I am glad I went into this establishment! The atmosphere reminded me of the restaurants/bars in St. Ann and was very homey! You will not be disappointed! Check out the menu and enjoy your visit to the Fern Gully! They even practice Social Distancing for those worried!
