Famous Toastery Ayrsley

Went on a Sunday at 11am. Busy but plenty of staff slowly meandering around. Waited with my partner for 60 minutes after being quoted 30. After being seated at a table with ants and food all over it. We asked 4 different staff to wipe the table. We waited 20 minutes before we finally requested to moved and asked if someone would be taking our drink orders soon. Someone came within a couple minutes and we ordered 2 flights. We then waited another 30 minutes for our server that we never met. We asked to pay for the flights and leave. They had not put them into the system and didn't even know we where there. Yet staff continued to walk past us over and over serving other tables.

Poor communication. Called to place an order and the staff member asked me to hold while she wrote something down, then she said she was ready to take my order and while I was halfway through ordering, I could hear her ringing up a customer in person. I tried to see if she could hear me, but it seem like she had just set the phone down with no communication, after waiting for an additional 5 minutes I hung up and tried to call but was sent directly to voicemail multiple times. Totally understand restaurants get busy, but didn’t appreciate being ignored instead of being asked to hold.

Took my mother in law and grandson this morning and nothing short of excellent. All establishments are understaffed but we had no issues at all! Food and service was excellent.
