Must Try Dishes
At Essex Diner in Essex, Maryland, you must try their signature homemade Maryland crab cakes, known for their rich flavor and fresh local ingredients. Highly recommended is their bestselling French toast, a rating topper for its perfect combination of fluffy and crispy. The diner's home-style meatloaf shouldn't be skipped. It's seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. The star on the menu, though, is their classic American burger - generously patty-sized and fully packed with a blend of flavors. The homemade chili is a delight too; it's got a wonderful kick but not too overpowering.

Great little spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Special kudos for the Shrimp Creole and the Patty Melt - between those two, I may never order another thing on the menu for lunch or dinner, they're that good. Lots of good choices on the breakfast menu. Staff is always attentive and friendly - they always seem to genuinely enjoy what they do.
Finally went to this little gem, ordered the Reuben panini, it was amazing! They did forget my coleslaw this time. I have since returned and they gave it to me the second time. Also tried the crab soup. A little too salty but the over all experience was great! My daughter got the chili omelette, she loved it. I wasn't a fan lol def will go back to try other stuff!! Guess I forgot to take a pic of the dinner lol
This is a neighborhood style place. Kind of dated, but that's ok, we were here for the food. We were recommended coming here for the crab melt, OMG, out of this world good!!! Huge portions of this reasonably priced. This was 2 crab loaded Imperial cakes, gently browned and served on toaster, seeded rye-perfect combo, It came with piping hot French fries, Cole slaw, and a pickle...about $15. Pepsi products. This will be a new go to place.
