Ellie's Breakfast & Lunch

Great breakfast spot. Good service and the food was made quick and very good. I got the Greek skillet.

I had passed by Ellie's often without stopping in. I remedied that this past weekend when my wife and I went to Ellie's for Sunday Brunch before catching a movie matinee. The menu was chock full of beloved American favorites for both breakfast and lunch fare. My wife ordered a combination of eggs, bacon and a pancake. I eat a LOT more than she does, and ordered Corned Beef Hash, home fries, and grits. The Hash was cooked to PERFECTION with that perfect crispy glaze on top. The grits (NOT out of a packet) were creamy, and they had already added butter, to my delight. The home fries were likewise cooked to perfection. Our meals were whisked out to us in just the right amount of time to know that they were cooked (not warmed), but still quickly. The food was piping hot. The service was impeccable. Food was good and generous serving size. Prices are very good. Fast service. Clean. I thought my omelet could have had more meat, very little sausage. Did not like rye toast, very rubbery and very little flavor.
