There are multiple El Tapatios in the Denver area, but sadly despite the great view and location of this one, the quality of food just doesn't compare to the others. Was not as good as some of the other ones I have been to. Burrito was more in line with Taco Bell. Used to be good. The Supreme was skimpy and not very tasty. Not as authentic as some other Mexican Restaurants in Denver....
Great spot right next to the climbing gym. Service was great. Got the Tapatio Marg (Small) and it was well balanced. The servers seem trained to go for the subtle up-charge by presenting the sizes in order of Medium, Small, or Large rather than the logical sizing order. Friendly reminder that a larger size margarita does NOT mean more alcohol unless it's explicitly stated that it has more alcohol or that it's a double. My partner got the Medium, and it was WAY too sweet. Lots of food options. We got the molcajete (chicken and steak), which has a ton of food, but the sauce wasn't as flavorful and was bit more watery than some other places. Still delicious though. Great patio overlooking South Table Mountain and the front range foothills towards Golden/Boulder. Would come back.
