Absolutely fantastic! I had been there years before with the prior ownership but there is a new owner, a former employee. Food was fantastic, margarita was wonderful, chips and salsa were excellent and service was outstanding!!! Kodi, our waitress (I hope I spelled it right) was amazing. She was friendly, had a sense of humor, and just gave us great service. The bus boy also was fantastic…..friendly and did a great job. We thought one of the gentleman who thanked us when we left might have been the owner. It was. We told him we needed to talk to him about his waitress and bus boy and he was concerned Lol. We told him how wonderful everything was, especially his employees. He was very friendly and appreciative. I’m leaving this because this is the type of establishment that needs to be supported, especially with the high overhead today. Can’t say enough. Unfortunately we’ve left Clovis for AZ but every time we’re back, this will be on the “to do” list!!
My wife and I we’re looking all over the Fresno / Clovis area to find a replacement for Jorge’s Place since Jorge retired (well deserved BTW), we tried several but only El Pueblito met our high standards for authentic, quality Mexican food. If it doesn’t taste comparable to mi abuela’s then we don’t bother going back.
Salsa: 5/5 one of the best salsa's I've tasted in Fresno ... so far. Still scouting for my favorite Mexican restaurant though. Carne Asada Plate: 1/5 probably the worst we've ever tasted. It was more like fajita style without the sizzling plate onions and pepper. Super thick and chewy strips of beef. Not your thin grilled steak that were used to. Hit a gristle on first bite. Portions were nice but it looked like sliced beef. Husband left all of it on his plate. Guacamole was "gross" he said. He immediately spat it out. I didn't want to try it because it looked odd. Asked waitress as we were expecting a thin steak. She was friendly but just said that's how we do it. She should've realized the only thing eaten on the plate were the rice and beans. Chile Relleno/Cheese enchilada: 3/5 wanted to like it, but it was room temperature. The cheese wasn't soft in the Relleno. Beans: 5/5 Super yummy and very flavorful! Water: 0/5 their water tasted way off! I couldn't drink it. Raised in tap wate
