El Patio Mex-Tex Restaurant

LOVED IT! We were there for taco Tuesday. The tacos were great. I really liked the chips and salsa too. Yummy.

I must say, I wasn't aware of this eating place till my son told me today. We decided to eat here and was pleasantly surprised. It's in a relatively new development just off Sam Rayburn Tollway in The Colony, TX. It's hidden below a few office buildings and the rest of the retail spaces next to it are not occupied yet. There is a dancing fountain which is part of the development, next to the ground level patio. The ambience is contemporary Mexican, unlike most Tex-Mex where there is a huge stress on Mexican arts and music. There is a well stocked bar at the entrance and the seats and tables are very cozy and comfortable. The staff didn't over do it, but took care of everything needed to make it a quick and good lunch. The restaurant offers an all you can eat buffet for $22 and an A La Carte menu. For lunch we ordered A brisket beef taco plate and a carne asada taco plate. A nice Tex Mex restaurant with a very welcoming ambience. You get a free nice portion of chips and sauce as a starter. I had the Torta Ahogada and it was very good, nice fresh ingredients but a bit more spicy than what I'm used to. There's also a bar if you want to come here for a drink. Afterwards you can chillout at the Plaza that is just outside. This would be a nice place for a date Parking: Free parking available on site
