We've eaten here a number of times now including take-out. The food is delicious but like many small, independent restaurants, there are sometimes inconsistencies that affect the overall experience. The Birrea Tacos and dipping broth lacked jalapeños tonight but since I didn't bring it up, Ill cut slack by considering they may have been out of that ingredient at the completion of a long holiday weekend. The tamale I had was the biggest ever served to me in a restaurant. The chips were fresh and the sauce was flavorful but not spicy. The Tres Leche cake ???? was simply delicious. Lastly, the adult beverage program is a fantastic value when considering most on-premise venues charge 400-600% mark-up. We received 2-four-ones on both Pacifico and shots of Jose Cuervo Familia Reserva Extra Anego. Awesome! Service was prompt, professional, and courtesy. I highly recommend this gem of place!
Drawn in because of buy 2 get 1 free street taco Tuesday. Discovered it changed to buy 3 get 1 free. Tried 4 different meats. Service was prompt and friendly. Reasonable time for food prep. Tacos were OK. On the high end $ for their size. Meats seemed on the dry side. Disappointed that I got only one container of a sauce and had no say in what it was. Experimenting with different heats and sauces are what I most enjoy about authentic Mexican restaurants. Also odd, beverage lids are kept behind the counter and you must request one. They do have a nice offering of alcohol beverages in spite of not having a typical bar. Okay place once, won't be back.
A followup visit, this time was quite busy, Post-COVID. While there was no line at first, a continuous line started soon after and moved quickly. Our orders took a little longer this time, yet not that long, considering that they were custom built and baked, which takes longer than something just tossed into a tortilla and wrapped up. My order of a tamale was intentional, because I believe that if they make their own tamales and they are great, then the rest of their foods will also be great. It takes a significant time to make tamales along with loving care to make them great, a reflection of the care the restaurant gives all their foods. This tamale was great, along with everything in my order. A relatively new bar and grill that I've never been in before. Their COVID menu has a couple dozen traditional Mexican dishes and they have a couple of coolers with soft drinks, beer, and liqueurs. The food was very good, drinks and after-dinner liqueur very nice. Definitely worth regular visi
