El Monte Taco

Didn't care for their food at all! We dined in for dinner, when we arrived we were the only customers there. Ordered steak torta and enchilada dinner and the meat was not hot at all. The beans were horrible.

Super nice staff and great service. Not crazy about the tacos. Pastor and lengua, neither typically have lettuce and tomato, but these did, and both were super dry. My husband had the steak burrito and it was good...maybe that's their staple.

I like visiting this establishment. It's a neighborhood spot. They serve quickly with a kind smile and the refried beans are tasty (the sign of a good latino restaurant). I've had several dishes on the menu but my favorite thing to order here is some beans, rice and guacamole. These with the complimentary salsa and chips are filling and tasty and I'm good to go. My only qualm is that there's a toddler that belongs to the proprietors that is always roaming randomly around the restaurant and sometimes playing ball around the eating area. I do realize that it's a family establishment but last time he tried to relinquish me of my chips and salsa and that's a big no-no. Ever tried to take a hungry dogs bone when it's in his mouth? Yep that's the same response you'll get from me if you touch my plate while I'm eating. Heck...I don't even want you looking at it. I just might growl . Other than that I really like this place.
