El Merengue Restaurant

I just wanted some good mofongo and this place delivered! The woman taking orders was incredibly understanding and accommodating. Dominican mofongo is inherently kind of dry so I asked her about getting it with extra broth and she made it happen with no issue. They even brought me extra broth after we were seated. It was perfect. We got empanadas too and they were delicious as well. Awesome place.

This place is so Dominican! I love it! I am Dominican and it's hard to find good Dominican food outside of New York and Florida, BUT this place is good! Taste like abuela is cooking in the back! I can't wait to come back to taste the ox tail! I had chicharrón de pollo, empanada de pollo, pollo guisado, carne guisado, con habichuela roja y arroz blanco. RICO!!!!

????‼️☠️ Disappointed with my entire order. I ordered a beef empanada and a chicken one they arrived totally burnt. The chicken super dry and tasteless. Also order the Steak with onions (Bistec), rice and beans. They send old steak, just looking at it you knew it was overcooked several days (looks like they used microwave) and the taste was so bad and hard. Flavorless beans, who ruins beans? It is sad that they call themselves a restaurant and do not serve fresh food with good quality to there customers. They do not have any presentation to be called Latin restaurant. embarrassment place. (I try to post some pictures but for some reason the apps don’t let me)
