My food was OK. My tacos were still frozen. so I guess they prep them the night before or idk how many days before freezing them and frying them to order ...so not so fresh. The chips and salsa were good. Must husband burrito was OK. But the avocado serving they gave was amazing. The location was good, they have parking in the back.
This restaurant has been in business for 56 years for a reason. Great food, great margaritas, great service and an environment that creates and enjoyable experience. The music and the decor are refreshing compared to many corporate restaurants. Check out the lunch specials.
These people take their salsa seriously! Came here with family and was blown away by how delicious the food was. My two tests for Mexican food are the chips and salsa and the tacos. El Matador meets---nay, exceeds---on both counts! Their Spanish rice also has flavor which is unusual for most Mexican joints. Their regular salsa is substantially hotter than other restaurants and their hot salsa...WOW. Great meals, great service, great food.
