Had a fabulous evening celebrating 21 years of marriage with my beautiful wife. As soon as you pull up to the place you already feel like its a fancy place due to the complimentary valet service. Inside, the 4-person jazz group was noticed right away and really complimented the atmosphere. Reservations are a must. We went on a Monday night in the middle of Winter and it was still packed. The place is perfectly lit and very clean. The staff is very professional and will do their best to make it a lovely evening for every customer. Now the food. OMG! We had the crab cake to start. I lived in MD for 3 years, but this was the best crab cake I have ever had. The crust on it was light and flakey and really made the difference. I ordered the steak medallions Oscar style which came with lobster tail and asparagus drizzled with bearnaise sauce. My wife got the scallops and a lobster tail. You like an upper scale restaurant in Kansas City? Here's a good place with a good reputation. I had the Sea Bass my wife had the shrimp dish. We were both pleased with our dinner. We especially enjoyed the bread that they served. Service was very good. You don't come here because you're hungry, you come here because you wish to be entertained gastronomically. If you've never been here give it a go you might like it.
The service started off very nice. It was my son’s birthday dinner and they wrote him a card saying happy birthday to him. I thought that was nice and thoughtful. And our table was prepared very beautiful. We dressed up thinking there is a dress code but there were people wearing t shirts, but I digress. The atmosphere was nice very sophisticated. I had the crab cake. It was so good. I also had Norwegian salmon but it was not cooked well enough for my taste. My son had yellowtail sashimi and he said it was good He also had scallops he liked them as well. My Mom had the calamari and the portion size was big so that’s all she wanted. I also had the Hope Diamond drink and my family had the virgin rendition of the Hope Diamond. Had the Hot chocolate Godiva cake and my son loved it. Overall it was a good experience but I think it’s over rated compared to many upscale restaurants I’ve visited.
