Durbins Express of Tinley Park

We've been frequent customers here & the now closed Tinley location, and live w/in walking distance. Last Thursday evening, we placed an order for pick-up. A portion of my husband's payment was with $2 bills- obviously legal currency. The woman cashier, who never says 'hi' back to us or have a nice day, began questioning him: "where did you get these? why do you have these? why are you giving them to us?". She then went to the business next door to get a currency checking marker, all the while the food is sitting there. Then, she even called her boss to discuss my husband paying with some $2 bills!! My husband felt so belittled, alienated, and poorly treated, and said so, and said he was leaving. He was treated like some criminal! And this woman's job is handling money and never seen a $2 bill before?! Sadly, they sure lost our business. The food is mediokre, plain & bland anyway.

I have been to this pub several times for a drink. Today I decided to have dinner. Unfortunately, as I had expected, the typical pub food in particular, the chicken was dry and the ribs were not very good. The service is very cordial and nice. As for me, this place is absolutely not for dinner.

Both my wife and myself ordered the Durban Special. It was a hand pressed Italian sausage sandwich on garlic bread. It was very good. We had never been there before so we ordered a small pizza just to see how good it was. The pizza was average. I gave it a 7.1 on onebite. Overall decent neighborhood spot.
