Dubplate Kitchen & Jamaican Cuisine

Having been in Jamaica last year we were looking forward to trying this place. It did not disappoint! The service is excellent and friendly, the food is authentic and outright delicious! And while we waited for our order we observed a huge amount of take-out flying through the doors. No wonder. This place is excellent! We did miss that second plantain we read about in other reviews, however.

This was my first time trying Jamaican cuisine I was worried to order after reading the reviews. it was okay.. I ordered the large plate of vegan oxtail which looks like a large plate of rice lol the rice tasted like nothing but the cabbage was absolutely flavorful & the vegan oxtail was yummy. I understand why people would be upset about the portion sizes. There is more rice leftover than the main dish. I’m a rice lover so I was okay. 3 star rating for the overpriced deceiving portion & the bland rice. I still enjoyed this delicious vegan offering maybe next time I’ll try the vegan fish in the small box !

We went here for dinner before a movie across the street. We love trying new places and thought we'd give it a chance. The interior of this place is totally random, looks like maybe they took over another spot and didnt redo any of the painting or decor. There are only a few uninviting tables if you want to eat it. Based on this and a few other things it seems like they really push their catering and to go services. There is a posted menu and little cards with the menu, but nothing with prices. We ordered a large fried chicken plate and a small jerk chicken plate. The order taker asked for a card and never announced our total and did not issue a receipt. We didnt realize til we got home that the meal was over $37. We asked for waters and were told they dont offer water cups, only bottled water for an additional charge.
