Detroit Coney Grill

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park since one of our party was from Michigan. I had a Detroit coney for the first time, and was impressed with the chili dog (and I'm a Dodger Dog connoisseur). My wife is a vegetarian and loved all the veg/vegan options. The burger was excellent and the owner was extremely friendly as he also bussed the order. There are lots of different food options for a variety of tastes.

I had driven by Detroit Coney Grill but never had stopped. I saw a free Coney Dog for signing up for my birthday in Facebook which I did. I ended up getting a reminder text that I hadn't used the coupon so I jumped in my truck and drove to the one in Scottdale. What I found was a delightful place that could easily become my neighborhood hangout. I really enjoyed chatting with the owner and as we sat at the table, several people came up and shook his hand and I definitely could see he and the restaurant are well loved. He spoke about how they make their own dogs and they grind their meat, that is becoming a lost art! I could feel his love for the place and his customers. I found the restaurant to be so clean and the employees very friendly. It looked like the guests sitting in the outdoor area were having a great time. I can imagine the chairs are filled up at night.
