I recently moved to this area and got a chance to try the food at this restaurant a couple of times. The taste and serving size of the food is good. However, I was not pleased with the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. While I was waiting in line for more than 20 minutes, I had a chance to take a look around the kitchen and seating area. The kitchen looks so dirty and everything is a hot mess. All the appliances are super greasy and not cleaned for a long time. Even the computer at the cashier is so dirty. The fridge and soda machine are leaking. When I was filling my coke, water was leaking from the machine to my cup. When I asked the worker for spoons, he told me no spoon, only fork. If you don't care about cleanliness and quality of the service and willing to wait 20 minutes in the line, you might get something that you will like. However it's not for me... I am very certain that this restaurant will not pass a health inspection in the condition I saw.
I go here bout once a week. I like the fresh ingredients, the pickles are the best part for me I always ask for extra. The hummus ads great flavor along with your protein choice of chicken or steak. The staff is kind and the cook area that is visible appears clean and tidy. It's a huge plus that the place is close to work and I can pick it up in 5 min or less. Price is fair considering the quality and the market we are in. Edit: price change on their food just in the last week I assume due to market changes but a Chicken bowl now costs a bit over 11 dollars. Vegetarian options: They have felafel for plant based protein along with rice and other veggies as toppings.
If you're looking for a really good Mediterranean/ Arabic food in Chicago, Illinois, don't miss this restaurant! We tried the chicken shawarma ????, the steak shawarma????, and the Falafel . They are all delicious! Also, the place is clean, the prices are reasonable, and the service is great. After we wiped out the whole order ???????? we took a dessert to go. It was also good. I really recommend this place to every one and specially for foodies like myself ????. We are definitely going to visit again. And don't forget to tip! They deserve it. ????????
