Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Apparently my server (Sophie) was possibly having a bad day or preoccupied with other thoughts. In the short time I was there, the manager was called to two other tables due to an issue with their order. I considered doing the same but decided not to when she was watching from the kitchen entrance as to what all was being said to the manager on duty on the second table. I figured she would probably have a break down and quit if I did the same. I had three different issues with my entire visit but I called her on it and she denied it. I figured I was not going to get anywhere there. Food was the same as any other CB so I really can't ding a chain restaurant on the food unless it is extremely terrible or not cooked properly. So all I'm giving is one star based on the service not the food.

Wait time was about 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon, but they got us in quicker than 30. The tables and floors were clean and just as other Cracker Barrels, it was decorated very nostalgic. The food was really good! I ordered the grilled chicken tenders. Gratefuly, they were not dry, seasoned well, tender enough to cut with a fork, and the serving size was good. The green beans and mashed potatoes were also seasoned well and very flavorful. The biscuits were warm and tasted fresh. Unfortunately, neither the girl taking names, our server, or the server at the next table ever cracked a smile, no human connection whatsoever. Their long faces didn't ruin our meal, but it set the tone for our time spent there.

Good ol country breakfast! Filling up before going to Grapevine Mills next door, we stopped for a hearty breakfast! Country fried steak was tasty and filling! Usually breakfast spots like this have a wait on weekends, but having the general store up front was nice to browse during the short wait for a table. Lots of fun toys, cute decorations, and lots of Christmas and Halloween decorations :)
