Flat mate and I ordered take out from Chopstick House and were underwhelmed. I had a fried scallop and fried rice combo, my flat mate had the Mongolian beef/pork fried rice/hot and sour soup combo and we split fried pork dumplings. The dumplings were decent with a decent sauce - they were crispy to burnt and the sauce was the most flavorful thing we had. The hot and sour soup was hot (temperature wise) but not spicy and was sour - but average. The fried rice had little to no seasoning and had super crunchy onions. The scallops were bland, slightly rubbery and the breading was bread crumbs unseasoned. The Mongolian beef had very little actual beef. Here’s the breakdown: Fast and fresh +1 star, large portions for the dollar +1 star, decent dumplings (a favorite of mine) with a flavorful sauce +1 star, easy to use online ordering system +1 star; bland, under seasoned everything other than dumplings with no soy/sweet sour sauces in to go bag -1 star for a total of 3 stars. The staff is so nice and friendly, they helped me out and were perfectly amiable. I thought the food was quite good.
If I could give it zero stars I would! I'm going to start by saying, I am not one to leave a negative review on anything. This is my 4th time eating at this establishment and I felt the need to write this review. My husband tends to get food for me while I'm at work. By the time I come home and eat it's a couple hours later. I always get the same sesame chicken and fried rice. Every time I've have eaten here the chicken has been EXTREMELY DRY AND HARD!! The first couple times I chalked it up as being old (due to the fact I was eating it hours later) But today we went there for lunch and the food tasted the exact same! DRY AND HARD! Everything wasted.. food and money. If you just so happened to make it to the end of this review, save your coins and just go to China Pan down this street!
