China Chef

I hate to leave any restaurant a bad review but this was THE ABSOLUTE WORST Chinese I've ordered ever! The shrimp in the combination fried rice was unclean (gross!) The crab rangoon barely had any filling in it. The orange chicken was mysterious looking not sure if it was meat it was not chewable and almost like jerky of some sort (ewww!) The Mongolian beef was dry and the only 2 things from this almost $80 order that were ok the Chicken Kow and Egg Rolls. SAVE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE! The best Chinese I've ever had was from Asian Kitchen 168 but now they're closed ????

I agree with ‘Tom Foolery’ about the food being bland and/or not spicy. I asked for an extra spicy kong bao chicken that lacked flavor & spice. It wasn’t spicy at all even though I actually ate at the red peppers along with my food. (Something I normally don’t do) I also asked for an egg drop soup which I was surprised to see that it looked like egg whites mixed in water & that’s exactly what it tasted like too. I had to add an entire packet of soy sauce and I never use those packets! It wasn’t tasty but at least it was palatable! (& I could only eat a few spoonfuls) I wouldn’t say the food is ‘disgusting’ but rather disappointing, to say the least. It was my first & probably last time visiting.

China Chef is the Best Chinese restaurant in Chicago. No matter what you order you'll not be disappointed. From the appetizers to your main dishes you'll absolutely love each and every one. Please run & not walk to China Chef. PS you'll also bring in for takeout all the time!!!!!
