I cannot believe the current review rating on this website. Based on my experience, I am inclined to believe that the rating is inflated by the company or by BOTS. My wife and I eat Mexican almost every week. This was our first time trying Chiapas and it was the worst tasting sit down Mexican food we've had in the Dayton area since moving here six years ago. The service was also the worst I've had in many years plus the server got the bill wrong. I will not go back.
I had never been there before, but was warned that everything was spicy. This proved to be accurate. I'm highly sensitive to spicy foods and it wasn't VERY hot, but there was some heat to my dish (chicken and mushrooms). It was good, just more spicy than I like. The tables each have a painting on them, and the decor is beautiful. The bathrooms are really small, but surprisingly nice. All-in-all, I would recommend this to other people as a decent place to try, just be mindful of the heat level.
Best Mexican restaurant in Dayton! I have never had a bad meal here. Food is authentic and delicious! I had the burrito MEXICANO for lunch today and it did not disappoint. The burrito came out with the Mexican flag colors as toppings on it.
