Checkers Old Munchen

Second time here and I must say we loved it just as much as the first time! Only regret is that we didn’t come more often before moving from pompano beach. Both visits waitresses have been very pleasant while pretty busy I must add. They start you off with pretzels, rye bread, mustard and butter. Pretty yummy. The pork schnitzel is a winner. So we had to get it again with the mash and the gravy on the side. We have a thing for adding our own sauces. We don’t like soggy food so 90% of the time we opt for sauce on the side. The pork is cooked to perfection with the perfect batter. This time we tried the Bavarian onion apple soup and it was like the best French onion soup I’ve ever had! (Remember how I said we don’t like soggy…) so we got the bread/croutons that go in the soup on the side. They were crunchy, spicy and delicious. We also tried the potato salad this time. Highly recommend the fried munster cheese and whatever you get if able, gypsy style! It's like an Italian vodka sauce but better!
