Chacho's

This place used to be excellent. Now the restaurant is just a (taco) shell of itself. It touts as being open 24 hours from all its outside signage but that is a lie. I have come to this place on multiple occasions in the mornings wanting to order a big breakfast for my family. I have been met with all sorts of we’re closed stories. One time I was told “Our cashier isn’t here yet.” I guess the owner doesn’t trust all their employees to not handle money… Todays excuse broke the camels back. I pulled through to the drive thru and was met with silence; I thought no problem, I guess they didn’t hear me saying hello. I pull up and I see a silhouette of a person at the window. I yelled hello more than one time. No response. I tapped the car horn once. No movement from inside. I tapped it again in quick succession this time and finally it stirs. Dude was definitely SLEEPING. The guy opens the window and sleepily says “We’re closed, I am waiting for my people to come in, no one is here.” Pleas

Still absolutely the best nachos in Houston. Can't be beat. But it's drive through only now so I really don't go anymore. Who wants to eat nachos in the car. Large portions for cheap. I love the taco shell salad with steakhouse beef. Sometimes they don’t have it so I’ll pivot to one of the dinner plates. Good rice, good beans, fresh guacamole salad, lots of sauces to choose from, well seasoned meats. Perfect for late night munchies.
