My wife and I were walking around Laguna Beach when we came by this restaurant and decided to give it a try and the place did not disappoint. We were seated outside which has a nice view of the park and the ocean. We noticed there was an early dinner special but when we asked our host she didn't seem to know what we were talking about but waiter did. We ordered the Steamed Muscles and Clams for an appetizer, and the Blackened Pork Chop along with the Filet Mignon for dinner. The Muscles and Clams were very meaty and the sauce was a tomato and garlic delight. The Blackened Pork Chop was seasosned and cooked just right, and the sauce had a very rich and hearty flavor that you will want to save your bread for. The Filet Mignon was a lean cut which I like and the cabernet demi glace was thick and savory. There was I believe some sour cream mixed in with the glace which threw me of for a moment but it went well with the steak and vegetables it came with. It was a very pleasant meal and we
Great view of the ocean but the food is diner quality. I came here for Sunday brunch. I do not recommend the Cajun Benedict. Their version of Cajun is adding small pieces of homel sausage with canned salsa. The seafood crepe was very creamy and buttery with not so fresh ingredients You are paying for the view for this restaurant. Food and service was not impressive.
My wife's French onion soup was perfect as was the French Bread. My daughter's Seafood Fettuccine lacked a little in the seafood category, but the sauce was delicious. My lobster was extremely small portion and the mashed potatoes were a barely soft solid ball of brownish gray and not hot. The vegetables were undercooked and barely warm. My wife asked for a glass of plain hot water and it was served in an obviously dirty brown stained coffee glass mug. The desserts were to die for and we loved the patio seating were we watched the sunset over the Pacific Ocean with the exception that it overlooked the stand alone tam-shaped public restroom. Prices were reasonable and would have been totally appropriate had the food been better prepared. Minus the dirty glass the service was very good, although are waiter did not introduce himself but otherwise very friendly. We did order from their bakery counter on a way out and it was delicious for breakfast the next morning.
