Carreta's Mexican Restaurant

It was right down the street from the hotel we were staying at which was really convenient for us. Me and my family liked the food but it was pricey. We ended up paying $70 for three dishes and a drink. We probably won’t go back, instead we’ll try something else next time.

A new Mexican restaurant, they offer all the standard dishes. What sets it apart from other similar restaurants is the ambiance and decor -- very inviting and comfortable. It is open and spacious, and all the furniture and fixtures are brand new. The walls are adorned with vibrant large format paintings. The prices are good and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Best Chile Relleno in St. Louis. We have eaten here several times and keep coming back for the Chile Rellenos. It is such a difficult and labor intensive dish to make and they do a wonderful job. The flavors and textures are just right. Salsa is also excellent. We also had the tortilla soup which was delicious and even better reheated the next day for breakfast with a corn tortilla and fried egg floating on top. Ambiance was upscale and the wait staff very good. Will continue coming to Carreta's.
