Carpe Diem Pizzeria

I should have listened to a former Carpe Diem customer who recommended Roscoe's as I entered Carpe Diem, only four customers were seated during prime time on Saturday night and a handful of carryout orders were waiting on the counter. As my pizza was being prepared I twice asked for the sauce to be reduced and the pizza maker refused. I decided to try it his way... Too much sauce, too much cheese and the dough tasted like it's made from a low quality domestic flour. The pizza was not Neopolitan style but an American interpretation of pizza. After one bite I attempted to return the pizza, the surly staff refused to give a refund because I had taken a bite of the pizza. I left the pizza with the staff and exited the place. Their pizzas didn't look like their menu at all. In fact the margarita pizza which looks like a delicious mix of sauce with a smattering of cheese on the menu was basically just bread and cheese with almost no sauce at all.. And though I ordered arugula on my pizza they forgot to put it on. When I called to mention these oversights they told me it was my fault for using postmates. I am all for supporting local business but they should at least try to deliver on what they show in the pictures.

The cheese and toppings were very generous, but unfortunately, the crust was nothing special and super greasy. I rather go to Roscoe's for semi authentic Neopolitan pizza. Obviously if I want to drive, Pupetella is hands down the best within 200 miles of Washington DC.
