I was with a friend and we ordered separate dishes and shared. The ox tail was amazing along with the yellow rice, plantains and black beans. The vegetarian dish was good but was over shadowed by the ox tail. We couldn't decide on an appetizer so we got the sampler which was excellent but we just picked at to save room. Now the thing that swayed me to give this place the 5th ???? was the key lime pie martini, I had 4. That was the best ever and I informed the bartender that they needed to use larger glasses. It tasted like the pie without the crust and wasn't to sweet. I live an hour and half away and I plan on going back and I recommend this place and if nothing else get the key lime pie martini it will change your life.
Let me tell you something, I've always wanted to try Empanadas and never got a chance to until Tuesday 3/1/22. Then again on Wednesday AND Thursday!!!!! This place is amazing from the customer service to the food. To complete my empanada combo, I added yellow rice w/red beans, plaintains and a side salad three days in a row. I can't wait to go back. Honestly, I just don't think I'll find empas this good anywhere.
If I could give them a negative review I would. We called in an order an hour before closing. I asked for vaca frita, tostones, a tamal and moros. They “forgot” the Moro and when I went back to pick it up this is what they gave me. Not even a quarter of the container and the rice was hard. A waste of almost $4. They didn’t forget, they just gave me whatever they had left in the bottom of their rice maker. The tostones were stale. Again, they just gave me whatever they had leftover. Horrible service. Save yourself the money. As a Cuban, I’m disappointed to have them represent our food and culture.
