Caribbean Cabana

This was so so so so bad. Like not only the worst Caribbean food I ever had but the worst food. Wasn’t fresh. the flavor was non existent. As a Trinidadian American, I was expecting at least close to authentic flavor. Maybe the positive reviews are from people who don’t know what it should taste like. Either way very bland. Wish I could go back in time and undo my purchase. Oh also the sorrel looks and taste like fruit punch. It’s a no.the two stars is because the portion size wasn’t bad and merely because I’m trying to give my people the benefit of the doubt. I wouldn’t eat here again if they offered endless free food. The search for good West Indian food continues.

Authentic yet horrible food. Do not recommend. This isn't coming from someone who is trying to bash this place. This is coming from someone who is trying to like this place but I can't. The chicken roti fell apart the instant I picked it up. The potatoes were hard as well as the channa. I brought the food home and ate it so the roti being soggy was understandable but I simply cannot forgive how bad this tasted. Twelve dollars for a roti I won't feed anyone. Supposedly the owners are from the Caribbean but I can't understand how that could be true with the quality of food being served here. Seven dollars for a Shandy Carib should be a crime. The doubles I wanted to try but was out, speaking with someone in line they told me to try the jerk chicken sandwich and was out so they must be popular to have sold out. I will be back at the Caribbean Cabana to see if maybe it was just today the food tasted as if it was made to taste intentionally bad.

Their Jerk Chicken is full of flavor & heat, the Macaroni Pie was tasty, but the Curry Chick Peas stirred into the Spinach is mind blowing!! If you're in the Dallas area and looking for some tasty Caribbean food, be sure to swing by Dallas Farmers Market and visit Caribbean Cabana.
