Captain's Tavern Restaurant

This review is based on my personal experience. It may or may not reflect your experience. Got to say, was not expecting a negative review of captains tavern. The place was very highly recommended. First, the service. The service was very good! One of the very first things that happened was some fellow tried to barge in without a mask. The host turned him away. That was good. Everyone else was wearing masks, the staff were all wearing masks. Thank you for that. Next the drinks. I ordered a few specials on the menu including a leche martini. I wound up sending them back. They were not great. Next the appetizer. I ordered rings and things calamari. We ate it only because I had already sent the drinks back. Didn't have much of a taste, the breading was not adhering to the meat, and the meat was wet under the breading. It was not tasty. Next the crabs. I was told these were very good. Food and service was just passable, but not great, which is why I gave them 3 stars. Ambiance is acceptable. Older restaurant with mostly local customers. I would not go there again.

Its like traveling back in time to 1985. The music, the atmosphere nothing has changed... The food was good the kids meals were a great deal especially if your little ones like fresh fish. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The waitress was very nice, friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience.
