Calú Comfort Food

I have eaten lunch here a dozen times and everything I have tried has been really good. Go here, you will not regret it.

We were going to be in the area this week on video shoots, so we have been planning local places to eat. We decided to try Calu first, and we are glad we did! First and foremost it's 6:45 am and we were welcomed to have a seat and get a coffee while we looked at the menu. The ambience is cute and clean. They have 6 tables and a well stocked condiment bar. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the aroma of a NY/NJ deli. The smell of fresh coffee and bacon are definitely in the air. Since we planned out our meals last week I knew what I was getting. The chorizo burrito. It came at the perfect temperature, meat was tasty and had a little bit of a bite. Eggs were real! No hockey puck or pour and go eggs here. My only request for next time would be a crispy tortilla. Coffee was strong and had a dark roast flavor. No sugar needed. This is an example of the kind of small business that our society needs to support. The food served here is much better than what you will find at a corporate restaurant. I probably have purchased a dozen breakfast sandwiches from here and they do not disappoint. They are meaty, filling, and delicious. This is my go-to place in the morning.
