Must Try Dishes
When visiting Cafe Rosalena in San Jose, California, the must-try dishes are their signature breakfast burritos, filled with eggs, cheese, and a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage. Their generous portions and infamous super-spicy sauce are indeed amazing. Also, don't miss their warm, cheesy chile rellenos, made from scratch daily. Try the tender, flavorful carnitas tacos, for a real treat. For dessert, their homemade flan, with its creamy, rich, sweetness is a wonderful way to end the meal.

I had the Combo burrito with ham and chorizo. That burrito was heavy and filling. I was only able to eat half and saved the other half for dinner. I paired it with their iced horchata latte, and it was delicious. They make the horchata from scratch, in house, so the taste was on point. They don't have too many espresso options, but what they do have is decent. Want to come back to try something from the lunch menu.
Why is there Mayo on a Philly? And why so much? Most disgusting sandwich I’ve ever had and I threw it away. Waste of money. Officially the last time I go there. Truly gross.
We have been wanting to check this place out for awhile, since it is so hyped! Unfortunately, once we went in to order we realized that all of the merch is branded with blue lives matter… Overall a weird vibe considering the political connotations associated with that that go beyond the police force. Even more unfortunate to realize that all of the employees are POC and required to wear the shirt. That was enough for us to decide not to come back, but the burrito itself was pretty mid. The famous orange sauce is nearly identical to la Vic’s sauce and none of the burrito filling is flavored or seasoned in any capacity. The only redeeming quality is that it isn’t greasy and it’s large. I’ll be going back to Cafe Rose’s in Saratoga or exploring some other authentic locations in the future.
