I understand inflation but to seriously up-charge $1.75 on a slice of American cheese for the Cafe Burger is a laughing JOKE. Want a baked potato? Don’t ask for bacon bits, that’s $1.75 up charge too. I like supporting local restaurants but this is CHEAP. The owner is enjoying himself in his million dollar estate. Sorry you lost my business for $1.75. I will not support the rich price gauging.
Baton Rouge roast beef po-boys are a hit or miss, but Café Americain nails it. Their gumbo is great as well.
There were lots of choices on the menu. The food was great. It was very well-seasoned and very large portions. The service by Dusty was the best and one of the highlights of the experience!!! She was very attentive and no need was unmet.
