I went here for a special occasion and this was one of the most amazing dining experiences I've had. I've lived in the area over 15 years and had always wanted to go to Byrd & Baldwin, so when my wife and I had something to celebrate we made it happen. The staff was amazing and the food...5 stars doesn't do it justice. My recommendation, the Wagyu. We will definitely be going back the next time we have something to celebrate.
This was a dining experience that exceeded my expectations. From the hot hand towels to the dessert lol. The waiter we had (Damon) was exceptional from the moment we were seated even with accommodating food preferences just a bit. The salmon had just the right amount sweetness to not pull away from the risotto s salmon. The crab meat and Brie cheese was melting in my mouth then the sweet dessert chefs kiss ????
This was our second time coming back to Byrd to & Baldwin for a date night celebration, and I cannot rave enough about how good the food and service was. We were able to valet our car which is a plus in downtown Norfolk. And our waiter was friendly and checked on us regularly to ensure we were satisfied with everything.The atmosphere of the restaurant is conducive to a quiet and intimate dinner. Additionally, the dress code and implementation of restricted age enable dinner conversation which is very nice as many upscale steakhouses we have been to are very loud. My husband had the diamond crusted steak Oscar style and I had the ribeye with a side of crab roasted corn. We shared the garlic mashed potatoes which were delicious. And then ended the night with their chocolate sin cake, which is definitely the best dessert at a steakhouse we have tried. Overall a fantastic experience, we will absolutely be back.
