Buttercooky Bakery & Café

You can’t go wrong here - since I’m in the area once or twice a month, it’s become a required stop. Large variety, great quality, and a hardworking staff. I’ve gotten whole cakes for parties as well as single items, and everything is consistently good. They have things that appeal to kids and plenty of pastries that appeal to fancier tastes. I was just in today, and it’s newly renovated. Nicely done, like everything about this place.

I picked up a dozen pastries for a client visit a few doors down. Plus one for myself. After the meeting I tried mine and knew right away that I had to return for another half dozen to share with my family; plus one for the road. The Buttercooky box traveled with me back to Florida and my family loved it. Buttercooky is a must if are in the Long Island area.

I had went to the Manhasset location for brunch today with a friend and when we entered the bakery, barely any customers were in the store. We were ignored by every single worker in the bakery, who weren't doing anything. When we asked to see a menu, we were greeted by a very rude waitress. We still decided to place an order and when we got our food, it tasted good - so we decided to get some pastries for the road. When we went to order more (essentially giving the bakery more money) we were served by a separate waiter who questioned if we we were getting more food, which we found very odd. This same waiter was also glaring us down while we were eating our brunch that we had peacefully paid for. As the waitress was staring me down, I had accidentally dropped a cup of ice and got absolutely no assistance from the staff. I cleaned up the ice form the floor while on my hands as was continually getting death glares from the staff. It was very demeaning. Overall, the food was great, but th
