Buffalo Gap Saloon & Eatery: Restaurant & Bar

I remember this place back in it's heyday late '80's early '90's. It's nothing like that now. Food was impressive, but wish it was more Wow! Service was nice, professional. If it was busier - everything and everyone would probably had a better buzz. I think I came at an off time. It's like that sometimes. We got the burger and fries - we are on a best burger challenge for the past couple of years. So far, this is great but not in our top five. Fair enough to say, Nob Hill Tavern in NW PDX and The Garage in Vancouver take the too 2 spots Also tried the Nachos - love bat food and that dish varies everywhere you go. This was ok, but I thought the toppings were a bit sparse further down the stack. Chips were best part of it. I think they make those themselves. Quite tasty, just enough salt, crispy and crunchy even under sauce. Best part of the Nachos. Worth the dish - the full one, not the half dish portion. Just get extra toppings added. Huge menu. Multiple pool tables. Kind, knowledgeable and attentive folks working here. Food portions are fantastic. Great A/C for the hot summer days. Outdoor patio with umbrellas.

Server was fantastic, but the food was okay. Burger was lukewarm, tasted re-heated, and even though the recipe seemed promising, my bbq burger was "meh." Tried to give dessert a chance, but the brownie was more sugar than chocolate with far too many walnuts. I'd eat there again just because the servers were attentive and awesome, but it's not based on the food.
