Absolutely phenomenal!!! I had the 3 meat plate (brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage, ribs) Went in during lunch, waited maybe 5-10 min. Food: brisket - was extremely tender, melt in your mouth! Sausage - packed with cheddar, super juicy Ribs - fall off the bone. Great smoke flavor. They have a stand where you can grab bread, bbq sauce, onions, pickles and jalapenos. Service: extremely friendly! I personally liked this better than Terry Black's.
Absolutely NOT!!!! First off the price alone was questionable. I got Meat plate with 2 meats and 2 sides, turkey and brisket with double green chile Mac. Where was the flavor? Turkey had flavor but almost felt undercooked, kinda mushy. The brisket, the flavor was not there. Chile Mac, it tasted like just noodles. You know something is there just not seasoning. No salt no seasoning no nothing not even bread or BBQ sauce. That eas a disappointment all around. 23 dollars wasted. NEVER again.
A well deserved title of being in Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ joints. Friendly staff while ordering. Anytime I venture to a new BBQ place I opt for the brisket and sausage. Brisket had a real nice bark. Seasoning was on point. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was possibly the best one I've had. The clumps of cheddar was unique as other places use smaller crumb-sized pieces. My buddy had the brisket and pork ribs. He loved the ribs so much that he ordered another set as we left for dinner that evening. A good choice of sides and a few you typically don't see at other BBQ establishments. The Mac and cheese caught my eye and also had a nice kick to it. Pricing was about market average right now.
