It's really unfortunate what happened to the place. I haven't been here in a couple years but would come in everyday whilst working in the neighborhood. From the seating to the paper dishware to the plastic cups something important was lost in the remodel. I may be wrong but it also seems the sausage sandwich I ordered was different, less substantive. A $13 standalone sandwich needs to have something memorable and I ordered it because I remembered it having that. No longer my go-to spot in Edina.
Food is good, I had the Grilled Chicken sandwich, and my wife had the Alfredo pasta. Giving it 2 stars because of the awkwardness that the mandatory 15% "Equity" tax they add to the bill causes. I always leave a minimum of 15% and up to 20% tip depending on the service, but when I saw that sign on their counter about the added tax I just couldn't allow myself to include a tip on top of that. Is not about the money, is about the reasoning behind it. I think that explains why the place was near empty on a Sunday at lunch time.
Great place for pickup / carry out if you love fresh Italian food. Order online and then add 5-10 minutes to your pickup time if it is greater than 35 minutes as they can get backed up when busy. The bread sticks are great!
