Boulangerie Christophe

Tried the almond croissant, which I use as my personal measure for a good bakery. It was just the right amount of flaky richness and sweetness. Almond paste was spot on good! I prefer the type that is not overpoweringly sweet but still holds its presence. Cafe au lait was also quite nice. Not too strong and super hot, just the way I like! Price is DC average. Seating in the back was enjoyable, especially when sharing the moments and some crumbs with friendly sparrows!

The smoked salmon sandwich is just . It was the first time I ever enjoyed smoked salmon in my entire life. The bread was perfectly texture and all of the other ingredients meshed together well too. The tomato was fresh and juicy. I also got a napoleon and I never had a real one prior to this only the grocery store madness. It was worth every penny and I couldn’t recommend this place more.

We managed to catch their crepes before they stopped serving them at 2:30. Really good food here and good service! Their pastries looked amazing too. Our only complaint is that the interior was quite stuffy and a bit too hot, especially on a blazing summer day. The place could benefit from a fan to keep the air flowing.
