Bonk Soup & Sandwich

Went in and asked if they have peanut butter & jelly for my son- a typical kid-friendly kind of thing. The guy said no. I asked what they have for kids and he said- and I quote, “we cater to the working people around here”. In town in Lake Bluff. All kids. All the time. How odd and disappointing.

My family and I tried this place for the first time almost a week ago. We went in and really liked the atmosphere and the design of the place. I had two toddlers and two elderly parents with me. We found the person behind the counter to be very rude and rushing us. I told her it’s our first time here, allow us the time to figure it out. If other customers come, take them first. She was also the only one working behind the counter, filling in an online orders while also making our sandwich. The two other staff working there were attending to the bikes, which is fine but I think for a better experience for both the employee and the customers, it makes sense for one of them to step in and help the one employee. At the end, our orders were made poorly and she seemed irritated but us asking questions or making the orders more kids friendly. great place, great staff, gourmet food!! grilled cheese and tomato soup is out of this world. Goes great with a prairie latte!!
