Best tuna sandwich ever. It’s enormous - and easily feeds 2 lighter appetites. It’s very flavorful, but the special sauce makes it. Wish I had the recipe for that.
This is my absolute favorite sandwich/salad place but something that has happened multiple times is the times on the website do not match the time the restaurant closes. Today specifically my bf and I walked to board and brew Del Mar because their website said they closed at 7 and we got here at 6:30 and the place was completely closed and there were employees outside the restaurant sitting. This same situation happened to me at the PB location the website said they closed at 9 and we got there at 8 and they told us they were closed. I love board and brew but they’re phone lines never work so it’s impossible to call ahead and their website hours are unreliable.
Some may consider the prices to be a bit expensive however the sandwiches are quite large. Many people only eat half and take the rest home for another meal. They are open from 9am till 6pm so you can stop by for lunch early in the day or in time for a meal at dinner time. Also, they have an app which allows you to order ahead for a quick pick up inside the store. The staff is very attentive, energetic and entertaining also. Don't act surprised when paying if the cashier hints at tipping. There is a screen at the register to do so. Just choose at least 15% (there are higher options also) if all went well and the entire staff will be very appreciative! Some favourites are: Tom's choice is a Roast Beef, Turkey and Cheddar combo served on a baguette. Make sure to say yes when they ask if you want two servings of special sauce!
